A Spectacular cirque show!

 Viva Le Cirque! comes to life from the ashes of a devastating year for the performing arts. As the world was forced into seclusion due to COVID-19, the team behind the show vowed to return to the stage. "Putting together any live production, let alone one like Viva Le Cirque! that includes performers from different geographic location, artists that can not come together to rehearse due to the established social restrictions, technicians that had to coordinate from other countries and tying all the elements with  computer animation, projection mapping, interactive lasers and high-level acrobatics was a monumental challenge." says creator and director, Fernando Quevedo. "But we are all so happy to be doing that which we love. We are all running on adrenaline and happiness! We know that COVID was contagious but you know what else is contagious?" adds Fernando with a grin, "Happiness and love." As the old showbiz adage says, "The show must go on!" and it does every night that Viva Le Cirque! takes to the stage.Ladies and gentlemen: the cirque show returns!

After more than a year of not being able to perform their craft, the artists of Viva Le Cirque! return to the stage at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno/Tahoe more determined than ever to wow audiences. Theirs is a story of resilience and triumph over many challenges. Challenges that the audience members know all too well as they had to face many of these challenges themselves. Today they are putting the finishing touches on their routines and hoping to entertain and thrill audiences from all walks of life. "Frankly at this point, it's about having a connection with the audience. Having a communal experience. As a performer I miss that. I miss everyone experiencing something together for the first time" says Tanner Markley, World Champion Scooter Acrobat and artist starring in Viva Le Cirque!. "I am fortunate. I have a large space in my backyard where I could practice but it's not the same as when the lights are on, the music is blasting and the audience is cheering you on. I am so ready for this." With an international cast, the producers chose quality over quantity. "We are respecting social distancing guidelines and are very much covid compliant so when the decision to cast the show came we knew we had challenges to overcome. In past shows we could cover a stage with chorus performers but now we are restricting our environment and that includes the actual stage. Having said that, we still use an incredibly talented cast", says creative director Kelly Hamilton. "We have performers that have been finalists in America's Got Talent, we have performers that have been seen in Game of Talents, The Big Stage, MTV's Amazingness and the Discovery Channel's Outrageous Acts of Science as well as other well known television shows and of course artists that were in classic Cirque Du Soleil shows such as Love, Ka, Quidam and other stellar shows such as Le Reve. The shows stopped but talent hasn't gone anywhere. In fact, it's in Viva Le Cirque!"
